GLSensor tracker
Locate Your LoRa Sensors – The GLSensor tracker is a service which provide real time geolocation calculation and visualization of the sensors on the map. The GLSensor tracker is a part of the GLSensor framework build on ChirpStack LoRaWAN Network Server.
Accurate Location Determination:
- Time Difference Of Arrival (TDOA): Achieve pinpoint accuracy within a range of 20 to 150 meters, depending on conditions.
- Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI): Coarser positioning with an accuracy of 100 to 2000 meters
- The result of the calculation is improved with a corresponding predictive algorithms, which are used e.g. in radar technology , so that the location estimation would be more accurate.
Real-time LoRa sensor tracking demo
Application frame below is a real-time demonstration of tracking LoRa sensor devices. It uses a high accuracy and predictive position resolver technology developed by GL Solutions.
What you can do with the GLSensor tracker
With the GLSensor tracker you can get the location of LoRa sensor that does not have a GPS module. This means that you can use efficient sensors to operate on minimal power. Sensors with an extended battery life, making them ideal for remote locations and long-term deployments for example the Asset Tracking solutions.
Business cases:
- Asset Tracking: Monitor valuable assets in real time, even in challenging environments.
- Environmental Monitoring: Keep tabs on air quality, temperature, and humidity.
- Energy Management: Optimize energy usage based on precise location data.
- Occupancy Checks: Enhance workplace safety and resource allocation.
Revolutionizing how businesses track assets, monitor environments, and optimize operations.
How the GLSensor tracker works
The GLSensor UI runs on any mobile, tablet or computer device with a modern html5 browser.
LoRa sensor location can be resolved by using Time Difference of radio signal Arrival measurement techniques (TDoA) or by using received signal strength data (RSSI). The GLSensor framework includes predictive location estimator module to do complicated calculation tasks on real time.
A simplified picture below describes on general level how to GLSensor tracker resolves a LoRa sensor location on real time.
At the first, three LoRa base stations receives sensor radio signal. Each basic station attaches high accuracy timestamp of radio signal arrival time to received data.
Received sensor data of each base station are propagated to the LoRaWAN network server which combines the sensor data into one message structure. Now sensor message holds sensor’s measurement data and received radio signal information from all base stations.
The GLSmqttcs location estimator module gets sensor message immediately when LoRaWAN network server received it. Location estimator module resolves sensor location by using high accuracy and predictive multilateral position resolver technology.
The GLSensor tracker server subscribes sensor location information and visualizes sensor location on the map when it was published by The GLSmqttcs location estimator module.
